This is hands down the best sushi I have had in Austin. The wait staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I told them what fish I liked and they brought out roles that did not disappoint. I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants high quality sushi at a good price!
Heard it was the best Sushi restaurant in Austin and came away thinking at minimum it’s one of the best in Texas. Chef Elvin helped curate our experience from the sake to all the delicious appetizers and sushi. The entire group were blown away. The entire service staff, service and food were elite.

But honestly, that speaks volumes because I was too busy enjoying the incredible food, the warm atmosphere, and the outstanding service. Let me tell you, this sushi is something special. I won’t claim to be an expert on the world’s best sushi, but of all the sushi I’ve had, this is hands-down the best. Every bite was fresh, expertly prepared, and bursting with flavor. The chili hamachi, pork fried rice, the Gary roll, fatty tuna with caviar, escolar, some other rolls we had I can’t remember the name of, it was all fantastic. If you’re in Austin and love sushi, do yourself a favor and come here. You won’t regret it!

As a true sushi lover, I wanted to see what they could really do, so I stopped a nice lady who looked like the manager—Tiffany—and simply asked her to bring me their best roll. And wow. The moment I took a bite, I was in shock. Never in my life have I tasted sushi this good. No games, no gimmicks—just real, mind-blowing sushi. If you want the best, this is the place to be.

Tatsumi has to be the best sushi in Austin. In fact, I think it’s better than most of the sushi I’ve had in California or Las Vegas too. We let Elvin, the sushi chef, choose some of his favorite pieces for us to try and everything was amazing. There is so much variety and you can try fish you’ll never see at any other sushi spot around here. Each piece was tender, unique, and plated beautifully. In addition to the sushi, the gyoza, chicken karaage, and edamame were great too. Everything was 10/10 and the only thing I’m disappointed in is that it took me 3 years of living in Austin to come here.
